Research
My research interests lie at the intersection of energy systems, well integrity, carbon management, and techno-economic analysis. I am especially interested in work that connects engineering, economics, and real-world infrastructure challenges.
Current Research Areas
Well Cement Sealing and Well Integrity
I am working on research related to cement formulation and sealing performance for abandoned and orphan wells in Oklahoma. This work focuses on improving long-term well integrity and exploring practical, cost-effective approaches to well plugging. I am particularly interested in how engineering design choices can improve durability, reduce leakage risk, and support responsible energy infrastructure management.
Computational Catalysis and Energy Research
I am interested in computational and energy-focused research that connects technical modeling with real-world applications in sustainable energy and carbon management. This includes research areas where chemistry, engineering, and computation can be used together to better understand material performance and energy-related processes.
Energy Systems and Techno-Economic Analysis
I am also interested in research that combines engineering with economics, especially in cases where technical performance, cost, and infrastructure decisions are tightly connected. I am drawn to questions that require both quantitative reasoning and practical decision-making.
Research Themes
Across my work, I am most interested in a few broader questions:
- How can engineering research improve the reliability and long-term performance of energy infrastructure?
- How can technical innovation be evaluated not only by performance, but also by cost, scalability, and real-world feasibility?
- How can energy systems be designed and managed more responsibly in a changing economic and environmental landscape?
Ongoing Direction
My long-term goal is to build expertise in areas where engineering, energy systems, and economic thinking intersect. Through research, I hope to contribute to practical solutions in carbon management, infrastructure resilience, and the future of energy.
